Two female artists will have their work featured during a two-day show at the Art Central Foundation in the Thatcher Temple Arts Building, 4 N. Main St.

A pop-up exhibit — the first in the remodeled space — will showcase the art, jewelry and fashion of Laine Bachman and Amy Kollar Anderson, said ACF Director Sue Wittman.

The show will be open from 5:30-9:30 p.m. Friday with a cash bar and hors d’oeuvres and from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday. The show will also be a stop for Women’s Wine & Chocolate Walk, which is scheduled for Saturday. Wittman said there will be less access to the artists on Saturday because of the wine and chocolate event.

Bachman, a Middletown native, lives in Columbus, where she is represented by Sherrie Gallery in the Short North District. Her work has won numerous awards, including an Ohio Arts Council Individual Artist Grant.

During the last year, she has travelled to Cuba twice as part of a visual artists exchange and her work was featured in a show in Greensboro, N.C.

Wittman said Bachman began her art career at the Middletown Arts Center, where she won adult competitions as a child.

“She is just gifted,” Wittman said.

Anderson lives in Dayton and has had work commissioned by the Dayton Metro Library and Miami Valley Hospital. Anderson’s fashions were the highlight of this year’s Clash show in Dayton, Wittman said.

In addition to their paintings, Bachman will be showing her line of beaded jewelry, and Anderson will feature selections from her fashion collection.

Wittman said she’s also excited for the show because it features female artists and art traditionally has been a “male-driven thing.”

The show sponsors are Artique, Chocolate Sun, Daubenmire’s Printing Innovations, Mockingbird’s, Triple Moon Coffee and West Central Wine.
